Investec and BFS bolster teams

Investec and Bridging Financial Solutions (BFS) have added new members to their specialist finance teams.

Investec

Investec has promoted Jane Niles to head of real estate offshore within its corporate and family office team in the Channel Islands.

In her new role, she will oversee a 15-member team based in Guernsey and Jersey and facilitate access for Investec’s global client base to its entire suite of lending, banking, and wealth management services — with a focus on real estate finance solutions.

She will report to Investec’s head of real estate, Mark Bladon, and managing director, Brendan Stewart.

Jane joined the company in 2016 as head of corporate and family office for Guernsey, where she focused on real estate lending for family office clients who are structured via offshore trusts.

Throughout her career, she has supported family offices, large blue and red chip listed conglomerates, as well as utility and infrastructure companies with their international banking and finance needs.

Commenting on her promotion, Jane said: “Our expertise is in understanding the complexities of offshore structures behind family offices and trusts in our global real estate client base and appreciating a requirement to navigate them efficiently in supporting them in achieving their goals.

“Aligning our global real estate proposition means we can use our wealth of experience to support our global family office, offshore funds and trust clients.”

Mark commented: “Our offshore real estate business is a key part of our strategy in bringing offshore facilities to our entire real estate client base.

“Jane brings a wealth of experience, providing a high touch and personalised service to clients with complex requirements and, along with her team, will be crucial in aligning the business to offer one holistic capability in the real estate space.”

BFS

BFS has appointed Adam Wolstenholme as a BDM for Yorkshire, the North East and East Midlands.

He has 10 years of experience in personal finance and commercial lending, and joins the company from Together, where he worked as a BDM.

He will be responsible for spreading awareness of BFS’s products and services, as well as bringing more brokers on board and forging new relationships.

“This is a really strong career move that will see me focus solely on short-term lending and development finance, which are undoubtedly huge growth areas within our industry,” said Adam.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out and meeting brokers and to be able to discuss our fantastic lending proposition.

“In the long term, I want to significantly increase the amount of work we have within my area, introducing new networks and packagers.”

Steve Barber, managing director at BFS, added: “I’m sure Adam will be a great asset to our business development team.

“He is astute, keen and ambitious and, while he already has excellent contacts within the industry, is keen to strengthen his network to support our wider ambitions.”
