Steve Smith

Roma names new national sales manager

Roma Finance has promoted Steve Smith (pictured above) to the role of national sales manager.

In his new role, Steve — who was previously a BDM for the South West — will be tasked with enhancing and driving the business forward.

He has over 25 years of experience in retail and commercial banking, including bridging, asset and invoice finance and all types of commercial lending.

He also spent six years as a mortgage broker, offering him a better understanding of their needs.

“I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity within Roma,” said Steve.

“This is a very exciting time for the business and the industry as a whole, and I am looking forward to helping shape the future as part of a highly effective team, ensuring we give both our introducers and customers the best possible experience.”

Scott Marshall, managing director at Roma, commented: “We have demonstrated the strength and resilience of our business over the last 12 months, which provides us with a great opportunity to leverage that experience as we have ambitious plans for future growth.

“Steve is a highly valued member of the Roma family and will help us to continue this upward trend, playing a key role in achieving our future success.”

This follows a number of changes made by the lender after its rebrand, including the appointment of Michael Allison — who joined the team as head of transformational change — and the launch of a semi-exclusive bridging product with First 4 Bridging.

Roma divulged it has a number of exciting announcements to come over the course of 2021.
