UK Agricultural Finance has expanded its business development team with the appointment of Sue McIntosh-Gibbs as head of business development for the Midlands and Nicola Purcell, who will take on a business development support role.

This follows the recruitment of Tracey Simm as head of business development in the South West.

Tracey has 30 years of experience in the finance sector, having previously served at Barclays, Santander and Folk2Folk.

Sue — who has 25 years of experience in financial services — joins from Folk2Folk, where she ran business development in the Midlands and surrounding areas.

Nicola also previously worked at Folk2Folk, where she supported both Tracey and Sue.

“We are thrilled to have Tracey, Sue and Nicola in the team,” said Graham Noble, director at UK Agricultural Finance.

“Their experience and locations will help us continue to deliver a high-quality customer service locally to our introducers and brokers.

“These are the first of a number of hires we are making to help with our expansion plans.”

The specialist business lender to the agricultural sector offers lending to farmers throughout England, Scotland and Wales and completed a £150m fundraise last year.

Robert Suss, director at UK Agricultural Finance (pictured above), told B&C that agricultural finance was potentially overlooked in the specialist lending sector.

“There is a lack of specialist knowledge and ability to provide adaptable solutions to meet a farmer’s needs,” he said.

“The high street continues to offer very cheap, long-term funding, but the lending requirements can be highly prescriptive and the loans, subsequently, very inflexible.”
