Assetz Capital introduces private fund for institutional investors

Assetz Capital — in collaboration with an FCA-authorised fund manager — has added a new private fund for institutional investors.

The fund uses a cost-efficient fund structure and is eligible to institutional, professional or other experienced investors.

It offers an additional channel to invest in loans on Assetz Capital’s marketplace.

Investors will participate in a portfolio of short-term loans to SMEs originated by the P2P lender which will be backed by real estate security as well as other forms of guarantees.

The fund manager will act as the investment manager for the fund and will carry out data-driven due diligence of the Assetz Capital platform.

“This new fund launch provides a new long-term funding structure to further increase the scale of our marketplace and our lending support to UK SMEs,” said Stuart Law, CEO at Assetz Capital (pictured above).

“It further expands the universe of investors that can access the Assetz Capital marketplace, alongside our valued retail lenders.”

Assetz Capital recently revealed to Bridging & Commercial that it aims to be 50% institutionally funded by the end of 2019.
