Bibby provides over £100m to northern businesses in 2018

Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has surpassed £100m in funding for northern businesses in 2018.

The SME lender has supported businesses across a wide range of sectors, including recruitment, manufacturing, catering and retail.

Bibby’s specialist corporate team supports businesses with a turnover above £5m by providing asset-based lending solutions, including stock, trade, invoice and asset finance, as well as commercial mortgages.

Dan Burton, regional head of corporate at Bibby, said it was pleased to help SMEs in a region which was often overlooked.

“With Brexit looming, it is crucial we continue to invest in entrepreneurs and new businesses as well as support initiatives that fuel the Northern Powerhouse.

“It has been an exciting year at BFS, and our commitment to quickly understanding the needs of SMEs has allowed us to help ambitious businesses in this region thrive.

“It is vital that investors recognise the opportunities that northern SMEs provide for the wider community and economy.”

Bibby’s northern lending milestone comes after Adrian Payne rejoined the lender as head of sales for Solent.

Adrian will lead a specialist team based in Berkshire and be tasked with developing Bibby’s market share in the Solent area, which includes Portsmouth and Southampton.

“I was delighted when the opportunity arose to join the business’s leadership team in the South, in which I’ll be responsible for a high-performing sales team with significant growth targets,” said Adrian.

“As head of sales, I look forward to working with SMEs in the region, helping them access the funding they need to drive the growth of their business.

“It is the perfect role at a great company.’’
