FundingKnight appoints new MD

FundingKnight has appointed a new managing director.

Caroline Langron will lead the peer-to-peer platform’s future growth plans while continuing in her role as managing director of SME lender Sancus Finance, a position which she has held since 2014.

The appointment follows a business restructure which saw both Sancus Finance and FundingKnight’s owner, GLI Finance, collect a number of alternative finance companies together under the Sancus BMS Group banner.

“In preparing the business for the next phase of growth, we are delighted to expand Caroline’s responsibilities to include leading FundingKnight,” said Andy Whelan, CEO of Sancus BMS Group.

“Her experience and expertise in building and managing similar businesses will provide the foundations for growing and serving the combined client and funder base of both businesses.

“There are great synergies and opportunities for these two businesses to combine forces.”

To date, FundingKnight has provided over £31m of property and working capital loans to UK businesses.

The platform was fully acquired by GLI Finance in June 2016.

“The alternative finance space is improving the accessibility of much needed funding to businesses on their bespoke terms,” added Caroline.

“We seek to continually improve the solutions that we offer our clients in the form of fast and flexible funding and to offer funders a wide range of opportunities to choose from.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead FundingKnight and I look forward to working with the team in channelling their drive and ambition.”
