10 Questions with Kirsty Buchanan of Tiuta

She's one of Tiuta's newest recruits and is certainly a fan of the fast and furious. Watch out Lewis Hamilton!...

Katie-Jill Rowland speaks to Kirsty Buchanan, Business Development Manager at Tiuta...

1. How long have you been at Tiuta and what did you do previously?

I have been with Tiuta as BDM since the beginning of May 2011.  Prior to that I worked for J S Law, a law firm based in Leicester, dealing with a range of referring estate agents from across the country.

2. What did you want to be when you were a Kid?

I actually wanted to be a Formula 1 racing driver – Button and Hamilton have nothing on me.

3. If you could do anything you wanted this Sunday, what would it be?

I would have all of my family together for a good Sunday lunch with all the trimmings and plenty of red wine.

4. Which football team do you support and why?

Newcastle United or Rangers – which might sound bizarre but I’m actually from Scottish/Geordie descent and it would be more than my life’s worth not to mention both.

5. What is the best and worst thing about your job?

The best thing has to be the variety of people I get to meet and work with, and the worst is without doubt my daily commute from Market Harborough.  But even with the train trip each day it’s definitely worth it.

6. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

It would have to be a Wolf because they have sharp senses, they’re able to travel long distances in pursuit of a goal and they work most effectively with others in a pack.

7. What’s your favourite movie and why?

It has to be Drop Dead Fred, starring Rik Mayall.  It makes me laugh every time.

8. What do you expect to happen in the bridging finance industry over the next 12 months?

The bridging market is perhaps as competitive as it has ever been and I fully expect more lenders to move into the sector, at least in the short-term.  This will obviously be good for clients in terms of increasing numbers of products and propositions to choose from.  It is also likely that we will see downward pressure on pricing because of increased competition and it will be those lenders with experience and quality of service at their heart like Tiuta that will continue to thrive.

9. What would you put in room 101 if you had the chance?

Without doubt, it would have to be Peanut Butter – It actually makes me feel ill.

10. What’s your favourite book?

Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang.
