Metro Bank opens Clapham store

Challenger Metro Bank has increased its London presence by opening a new branch in Clapham Junction.

The branch is the bank’s 44th to open since its 2010 launch and has created 25 new jobs for the Clapham community.

To celebrate the launch, Metro Bank has invited local residents to take part in a two-day long party that will include live music, stilt walkers, dog shows and giveaways.

The party is scheduled for Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October.

Unlike traditional high street banks, Metro branches are open seven days a week, early until late.

The new Clapham team will be led by Benji Ashiagbor as store manager and Leanna McEwan as local director.

Kevin Barrett, regional director of Metro Bank, commented: “Our customers’ experience means a great deal to us at Metro Bank, everything we do starts and ends with the customer and we’re excited to bring the Clapham community a bank that puts them first.

“When we join a new community, we invest heavily to provide a truly amazing banking experience, and crucial to this [is] our people.

“Not only do we create jobs for local people, but we recruit colleagues who are passionate about providing customers with unparalleled levels of service and convenience.

“We very much look forward to making a real difference to the way the town banks.”
