Challenger bank hires ex-Bibby director to head up team

Metro Bank has announced the appointment of Kevin Craven as its new head of invoice finance.

Kevin joins from Bibby Financial Services, where he led the corporate sales team before becoming corporate risk director.

With over 20 years of experience in invoice and asset-based lending, Kevin also headed up the corporate division at HSBC Invoice and Equipment Finance.

At Metro, Kevin will be responsible for leading the bank’s invoice finance offering and will report to Richard Saulet, director of invoice and asset finance.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to join such a forward-thinking organisation as Metro Bank,” said Kevin.

“I have watched with interest the growth of the bank since its launch in 2010, and am really excited to be able to use the experience that I’ve gained over the past two decades to help grow and develop the business further.”

The appointment comes after Metro Bank saw a 110% year-on-year increase in lending during Q2 with loans to commercial customers representing 35% of total lending.

Richard said that he was delighted to be welcoming Kevin to the growing team.

“Kevin brings with him extensive experience and a real desire to do the right thing for customers.

“His insights and attitude will be a great asset for us as we continue to revolutionise banking for customers.”
