Former Enterprise CEO to head up new financial services firm




Michael Clapper has become the managing director of Black Book Finance.

Set to launch later this month, Black Book Finance will act as a concierge-style financial solution for intermediaries who deal in specialist and business finance.

Michael’s appointment will see him join Adam Brand, Joanne Dempsey and Yisroel Plancey as fellow directors, according to Companies House.

Michael’s career in finance saw him launch, then become group chief executive of, Enterprise Group in January 1991.

Before leaving in November 2009, the group employed 135 staff, had an annual turnover of £14m and £1.3bn in mortgage and loan originations.

The Enterprise Group included Enterprise Broker Services, EDGE, Enterprise Homeloans, Enterprise Finance, Openloans and Choice Homeloans.

Since leaving Enterprise, Michael became co-founder and executive chairman of Vapestick before joining the Electronic Cigarettes International Group as president as well as acting as chairman for the Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association.

In 2009, Michael founded and became chairman of Clappers Ventures LLP, an investor and investment manager in companies.

According to its website, Black Book Finance is set to launch in 19 days’ time.
