AOBP AGM smashes attendance record

The Association of Bridging Professionals (AOBP) had a record attendance for its 2016 AGM.

Over 150 people attended the AOBP 2016 AGM held at the May Fair Hotel in London last Thursday, which featured speeches from industry professionals.

Simon Juniper, vice-chairman of the AOBP, opened proceedings and revealed that the Association could change its name next year in line with the developing market.

"It is likely that we will open this question up to the membership as a whole to gauge popular sentiment and act accordingly, so please, get those suggestions ready,” Simon stated.

The AGM also looked at further plans for the AOBP in 2017, including improving the quality and scope of its membership, value for money, a technology update and the revival of its education programme with both the April Forum and summer roadshow highlighted as possible platforms.

Josh Valman, CEO of RPD International, was the event’s special guest speaker.

He discussed innovation and how to put it into practice.

Industry presentations from Stephen Todd, founder and director at Valuation Audit Services, and Adam Challis, head of UK residential research at JLL, also took place.

The AOBP also revealed it had taken on three new lender members and received applications from eight in total over the past three months.

The Association now consists of 790 blue associate intermediaries, 23 executive committee and silver associates packager partners as well as 33 associate members and 22 affiliate associates.
