Despite waking up to a misty and rather soggy morning on Friday’s Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, the broker event hosted by Anthony and Jill Wall of London Bridge Plc was an out-and-out winner for all those who attended.

Overlooking the run up to the finish, guests were treated to a superb luncheon and tea in a box with a direct view, where they could enjoy all the excitement of racing and soak up the atmosphere of one of the biggest events of the year in the National Hunt calendar.

The guests were soon into the business of studying the Racing Post, deciding on their chosen horse, placing a bet if they chose to and then watching the race from a spectacular viewing point protected from the elements.

Anthony Wall was keen to take on the legacy created by the well-respected and much loved David Johnson, and Friday’s success will now see London Bridge holding this event on an annual basis.

Commenting on the event, Martin Gilsenan from Omni Capital said: “I just wanted to thank you and Jill for your generous hospitality on Friday, I had a really enjoyable day...I look forward to seeing you all there next year!”

Caron Schreuder from Medianett added: “I want to thank you for Friday - Beth and I had the best time and it was easily one of the nicest client hospitality events I've attended. Bad betting luck aside, the food, company and setting was gorgeous.”

Commenting on the day, Amanda de Courcy, ADC Financial, said: “Thank you so much for your hospitality on Friday…I must say that the service and food provided by the Jockey Club staff was super.”

”I trust all our guests had a fun day.” said Anthony Wall, adding: “We enormously enjoyed their company and look forward to staging this as an Annual Event.”
