In line with a recent investigation, the Director of a financial advisor firm has been served with multiple fraud charges.

According to Sussex Police, John Field, 77, of Cooden Drive, Cooden, East Sussex, was charged with 12 offences of fraud by abuse of position.

Mr Field, who appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court on the 10th September, is alleged to have exploited his position as a Director of Meads Financial Consultants Limited, which operated from a premises in Gildredge Road, Eastbourne.The company is understood to have traded within financial advice.

The 33 individuals are suspected of have had entrusted Mr Field with moneys for investment purposes.

The case was committed to Crown Court for an initial appearance by Mr Field, who is on bail, on the 13th October. The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service following an investigation by the Sussex Police Major Fraud Unit.
